Seattle, the mecca of high school basketball.

Earlier tonight I met up with my old high school administrator, who is now the principal at West Seattle High School. He wanted to cop a few of my cd’s so it was definitely worth the trip. Plus, the Franklin varsity bball team was playing against West Seattle anyway, so i got to see Peyton Siva of Franklin do what he does best. Peyton is the #4 ranked point guard in the nation, and he definitely showed it last night. Tremendous speed and quickness, solid defense, outstanding ball handling skills and crazy leaping ability (dude is only 5’11”!), so he made his one-handed dunk in the 1st quarter look even more amazing. Dude is a true point guard. My bet is on Louisville to win the NCAA national championship next season, where Siva has committed to and where he will be teammates with former nationally ranked, Rainier Beach High School star Terrance Williams. Siva is one of many who are (#2 ranked-point-guard-in-the-nation-Abdul Gaddy, Tony Roten Jr, Josh Smith, Aaron Dotson) and who have been (Brandon Roy, Marvin Williams, Jason Terry, Aaron Brooks) top high school basketball prospects coming from the area.

Seattle has definitely been the birthplace of hardwood legends, and the tradition continues.

206 up!
