Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen

Posted in 2009, film, movies by nam on January 9, 2009

awww shit, son…

Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese, John Turturro and The Autobots are back again. The poster says enough….”revenge is coming”. So rumor has it that Megatron returns to Earth along with Star Scream and some new Decepticons…

…but, Michael Bay says no Megatron.

“Director Michael Bay has stated that Megatron will NOT be returning in this film and that the Cybertronian tank whose pictures have been floating around of late is a toy that Hasbro is making. However, he could just trying to throw people off, even though he stated this was true. Maybe it’s Galvatron. We’ll have to wait and see.” –

Hmmm…I’m betting on the Galvatron theory. I’m hoping for the Galvatron theory.

Plot :

“Michael Bay is also leaking out tons of false information-chances are nobody will really know what its going to be until it comes out.

However, while nothing is confirmed, both Michael Bay and producer Steven Spielberg said in interviews that, if they ever made a sequel to “Transformers”, they would make a big-screen adaptation of the Unicron Saga, since they feel it’s the most logical plot for a sequel as it spans nearly every form of Transfomers media (the original series, the newer cartoon and the comic books)” – YES!

New Transformers:

So far the Decepticons Soundwave and Ravage, as well as Autobot Sideswipe have been confirmed. Other Transformers that have been rumored – and somehow “confirmed” (by fans); these are:

Skyfire – A SR-71 Blackbird has been used in as either a prop or as a Transformer, no confirmation yet.

Arcee – As several (three) motorbikes spotted on set. (Although it is important to remember that in the original G1 TV show she was a car not a motorbike.

Although this probably won’t matter anyways, as in the original cartoon Bumblebee was a Volkswagen Beetle and Ironhide was a red mini van, yet both were featured in the first film as a Chevrolet Camaro and GMC Topkick Pick-Up Truck, respectively. So, there’s no reason that Arcee couldn’t have a motorbike, or motorbikes, as an alternate mode.)

Springer – According to Wikipedia, leaked toy images of the Autobot were seen on the internet. His alternate form is expected to be a V-22 Osprey. (The same aircraft that drops the soldiers off at the base at the beginning of the first film.)

Astrotrain – A potential vehicle has apparently been spotted on set.

Prowl – A Chinese police car has been spotted on set, leading some to speculate that this may be the Autobot police car, who was originally intended to appear in the first film. Before it was decided that a Decepticon police car would be a better idea. (Barricade).

Hound – An Autobot military Jeep Wrangler. According to the IMDb trivia page, Hound was included as a special request from the US Military, who wanted to see a military vehicle as a good guy this time around. As the military vehicles in the first film were used primarily for the evil Decepticons.

Wheeljack – Saab-Aero X that has been spotted on set.

Megatron – Design pictures of a Cybertonian tank have been “leaked” on the internet. Michael Bay now claims in Empire Magazine’s latest issue that Megatron is NOT in it, and that this tank is just a new toy. Even though he has stated that this is true & not just to throw people off, it could be Galvatron. We’ll have to wait & see.

Constructicons/Devastator – Art has been spotted on and subsequently pulled off the net of Long Haul, leading to rumors that Devastator will be making an appearance, but no news on his fellow comrades as of yet.

Skids – A Chevy Beat with the license plate “Skids” has been spotted on set. Though this may be a play by the production company as the license plate could easily be edited in post production.

Isabel Lucas’ character, Alice is rumored to be a “Pretender”. This rumor harks back to the Japanese Transformers spin off “Super-God Masterforce” where the initial batch of transformers had the ability to transform into Humans.

I’ve never been so hyped for a movie since The Dark Knight, and before that was the first Transformers in 2007.

“The Full-Length Theatrical Trailer for Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen will make its debut infront of J.J. Abram’s Star Trek on May 8, 2009.

As for the Teaser Trailer, Michael Bay has officially stated that the Teaser will premier some time in February. It is not yet known if it will be released in theatres, or during the Superbowl.”

For those not aware, The Fallen was an important character in the War Within comics, about the Cybertronian Civil War.
